Lovely! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Love it…still not keen on yellow…I was a winter…but now with grey hair I suit soft colours better
Perhaps lemon yellow would bring a little softness 🍋
With the skinny silhouette i find only long tops work - i liked the top untucked
I love all kinds of belts
☺️💕
Congratulations! 🎉 A well-deserved award
Thank you so much! 😊
I like when you have neutral clients as they are maybe not so easy to type
It’s true! They make for an interesting analysis! 🧐
That palette is perfect for her!!
💯
Yes!! Beautiful spring!
Yes indeed! ☺️💕
Great explanation! NW20 matches my skin as well.
Thank you! Me too!
This was funny to watch because my mum had a sewing machine when I was growing up. It was a Singer with a wheel, yours is so modern! Amazing.
I bet there’s quite a difference! I’m loving this machine the more I get to know it!
Congrats on the award, you truely deserve it. Also congrats on the new sewing machine and taking sewing up full stop. I started early, making clothes while at primary school, learnt from a book given as a present, as mum said I was too tall to find clothes in the shop for. (I am not tall by todays standards though). I had it as a obsessional hobby, made my own clothes and for others, until my forties when, against all the odds (and after a lot of grotty jobs) got into art college and studied for a degree in textile design, the start of a new career, well the first one really. I am so pleased for you, hope you and your machine are very happy together, there are always so many new skills to learn in life, whatever age you are and whatever skill level you are at, I am still learning - I wish you joy!
Thank you so much Trisha! I’d love to take a dress making course and learn more. That’s next on the list! ☺️
Thanks! This video was just what I needed to see. I am 42 and wore chunky platforms/creepers as a 90s teen but now that I'm older, I've worked out my body is probably Theatrical Romantic or Classic with a balanced petite hourglass figure. My personal style favours a mix of exotic/ethnic, androgenous/boxy/oversized tomboy vibes but for events I go for opulent classic Bond Girl styles, very 70s/80s OTT high glam. I love dramatic pops of colour/trendy prints and hyper-futuristic cyberpunk looks too. Hmmm...I'm a bit of a crazy dresser I just realised lol. 🤯 I love fashion but go more for high-quality over cheap materials now.
So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Well done, you so deserve your award Sarah! 👏 💕 Fingers crossed for the next stage🤞🏻 Your new Janome machine is total sewing goals 💙. I’m tickled to see it’s colours are from the winter palette…I wouldn’t have expected anything else 😉😁 I can’t wait for the projects you decide to do…with all the features this machine has, the options seem to be endless!
Thank you so much Ally! Oh I am loving this machine! Currently working on a pair of trousers. I’ll put them up on RUclips soon! 💕☺️
Congratulations on your award. Welcome to the sewing world. You will quickly learn that sewing, fabric collection and pattern buying are 3 different hobbies 😁 May I recommend you look at love notions patterns, nice well drafted and well explained patterns that have an offer on a different pattern every Friday for $5 US. Also for fabric look at Pound Fabrics, Amo Threads and Legend Textiles. All dead stock inexpensive but good quality fabrics while you learn. I’m happy to offer more help or tips on where and what to buy if you need it. ENJOY!
Drooling over here
😂 I totally get it!
Congratulations on your award! 🎉. Am still using a 40+ year old machine, which still works well, but I like all the new handy features on your machine 😊
Thanks so much! That is amazing!
🥂
☺️💕
She is bright, cool and light. The first white drapes are really not that appealing for her because it blends too much with her skin. She needs light contrast.
I thought a true season meant u have no sister season and u stay within your own season , able to wear most of colors from that season.
Hi Darla.. yep, that’s what I said in the video ☺️💕
Congratulations on your award and good luck with the national award. I've just bought this sewing machine. I've barely scratched the surface yet, but the thread cutter is wonderful. Have fun!
Oh the thread cutter is amazing!!! Enjoy your new machine and thank you! 🙏
As always, a lovely video. So informative and educational. I was so happy that you told us that the most important thing to look for in her was the tone (softness) and not her temperature, that is so key and interesting.
Thank you so much! Delighted you found it educational ☺️💕
Very useful, thank you. Mainly I'm making fabric art using scraps, and it has to be done by hand, but it would be good to be able to make the backing more quickly using a machine. Slow fashion and slow living are necessities as well as ideologies for me, so the autumn might be time to start altering or even making clothes too. Congratulations on the award!
Thank you so much! Yes I do find the autumn and winter months perfect for sewing!
Congratulations on your award! 👏 🌟 💕xxx
Thank you so much 😀
Love this video! I am just looking into finding my first sewing machine right now, such great timing, really relevant content for a personal style channel. Looking forward to all your future sewing content! 😄
It’s a minefield to pick out your first sewing machine I found! Once you narrow it down to the brand you want and some ‘wish list’ items, it makes it easier! Hope you find one soon! ☺️💕
I never saw a modern machine before. It looks interesting. I'm looking forward to you testing it out. A small tipp maybe: get one or two more packages of needles (the variety you'll use the most of) because you will eventuelly break them. Also the plastic undercoil is fine but you might exchange them with metal one.
Thanks for the tip! Oh yes, I already have a number of needles in my kit ready to go! I spent today using the machine and I’m looking forward to sharing the results!
Congratulations
Thank you! 🤩
Jane is so gorgeous in Soft Autumn and very pretty in some of Soft Summer! I am happy to see that 'women over 40 can still be autumns', I've been told we can't! Maybe we do lose a little of our warmth as we age, but I'll be darned if I stop wearing my olive green, thanks.
I’m amazed someone told you that! 😮
Hi Sarah. Thanks for another excellent colour draping video. I especially enjoyed seeing a wider selection of colours pertaining to the sub group of a season and I hope we will see more of it in future videos. It's so helpful to get a fuller grasp of the colours and how they relate. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
My first thought for the yellow fabric was as godets, fabric panels, in a skirt of another fabric you love. The sheer nature and more stiff fabric should be really lovely in that style of skirt...or a dress with godets. Maybe don’t try immediately as they can be a bit tricky but it looks like your sewing ability is going ahead very quickly. Possibly practice with some scraps first. I've been using my Bernina for 40 years. Mum had a singer sadly no idea what happened to that machine. Finally I have always known myself as a sewer so I've just learnt the term sewist. Not sure which I prefer...
Thank you for all the suggestions and info! I didn’t even think about the term sewist really. It just came out of my mouth 😂 both work I guess ☺️💕
Her undertone was a hard one for me to recognise, usually it’s much easier for me to see it
Sometimes these things are easier to see than at other times. I could see it quite clearly in real life ☺️💕
RUclips suggested one of your videos today and I've now watched a few. Love your style and the way you present things. So much is how I feel; so it resonates with me. There was a period of my life where I made all my clothes. It was great fun. Having things nobody else had was so refreshing. Life got a bit in the way...Now I'm making clothes for my grandchildren 😊 I went to Spain some years ago and was surprised how much I loved it. Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised. Isn't Granada and the Alhambra amazing?
Happy to have you here! I hope you stick around. I loved Spain! It’s a beautiful country 💕☺️
I always had a lot of freckles and I still do ! Red hair and green eyes also ! Most likely a true autumn,IMO
Thanks for sharing!!
Definitely the cool!
🙌🙌🙌
She has beautiful colouring, if that's a natural light blonde, what a lovely Nordic blonde
So beautiful! 💕
I thought she looked much better in the cool colors… I’m confused, I guess
That’s ok 😀
I HAAAATE navy!!!
What did navy do to you? 😉☺️💙
What is Jane's natural colouring? Hey eyes look light, but could be hazel, I guess. He hair looks to be highlighted and on the ashy side? I ask, because I'm a blue-eyed redhead (yep, we exist!!) over here just floating in outer space because no one will let me in their club 😭 I feel like I am an Autumn, and likely a deep Autumn at that (with lots of DW crossover). BUT.... I am more strawberry blonde, and like many redheads, my hair has chameleon-like features and is sometimes almost white blonde and almost auburn at others. But I 'can't' have any DW because my hair is too light, and I can't be DA because blue eyes, light hair, blah, blah! 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ My Irish genes are biting my butt! I think all the colour analysis systems kinda forgot about the Celts 😢 We need a whole separate system!!! 😂 👩🏻🦰
This is her natural colouring ☺️💕
Lipstick😍 Can you please let me know color + brand 🙏🏽🌹
I think it’s MAC cherry lipliner and candy yum yum 💕
@@sarahryanthestylecoach thanks so much!!!
It's one thing to see their eyes and face literally light up when their colours 'change' them, but when that smile lights up, too ❤ Chef's kiss!
Exactly 😀💕
Love your Irish accent.
Thank you 🍀💚
I was so delighted to see this video you did in honor of Iris Apfel. I was also a huge fan of hers and actually purchased several of her clothing items that were available on the Home Shopping Network here in the U.S. I really treasure them. I too often hear older women saying that they think they should only wear neutral eyeshadow colors or just matte eyeshadow colors. But I totally believe that we need to wear clothing and makeup colors that make us feel joyful, happy and confident and finding the colors that make our skin come alive can definitely do just that.
She was such an icon and inspiration! She will be missed 💕
I struggeled a lot with makeup. Everything was either too pink or too orange on me. Normally I'm really pale, so I always look kinda sick, finding make up that pale was already hard, but with green? Just never really happened. Growing up I mostly just looked washed out in neutral colors but it was the best match I could get back then. When I tan (I tan really bad, it takes soooo long for a little bit - but I never sunburn too) you clearly see the greenish-greyish tone in my skin (my hair is a dark ashy, nearly-black brown and I have really dark brown eyes). I absolutely love the tan shade I get and I totally understand how that many people ask, if I'm mediterran or from the middle-east because I totally match the skin tone (or at least what people think people from there look like). At the moment I'm using alima pure satin matte foundation in olive 1, I'd say it's a 99% match. Their buttercup primer works well for the redness in my skin. Other than that the wonder foundation serum in fair from plants are purple is pretty close even tho it looks a little bit flat on me but evens out with the alima foundation powder on top. For eyes, lips or blush I use rosy-warm colors, browns, dark reds and plums. Everything on the warmer side most of the time. For clothing I have a few colors that look really good on me! Dark blue and really light blue looks pretty good, same with blacks or plums and dark reds. Mostly leaning into the warmer side but I can pull of a few cool toned colors like dark purple or a dark emerald. Warm army green works pretty good too even tho its green, same with sage green - mostly in summer - and dusky pink all year around. Also browns or greyish-browns work fine. What I absolutely can't wear are many pastell colors or really bright cool toned ones (except the one bikini I just bought in bright orange, that one looks good but I already got a light tan, so I'm not looking that sickely anymore xD). Just makes me look weird 90% of the time. Cool colors like Teal also need to be dark enough or its.. Mhmm idk, makes me look sickly pale. And cool light purple? Love the color but I absolutely clash with it, it's fine if its mixed with greyish undertones tho. Pure grey on the other hand really depends on the shade. Some just don't look good. Mostly in the medium range I need to pay attention. 😂
Ridiculous speed and no verbal directions. Completely worthless.
I couldn’t see a difference in temperature at all. Maybe I am more used to how cool undertone people react to colors than warm undertones 🙃 I didn’t saw a huge difference between warm or cold undertones. I didn’t saw her skin or lips change color or be more lively with warm colors (in gold and silver she was a little lifeless in silver than gold). In some people you have color analysed it was a huge difference, one turned yellow in warm undertones the other turned blue and lifeless in cool undertones. She came more neutral for me 🤦🏻♀️🤣🥴
The warmth is there although it turned out it wasn’t a dominant characteristic so I can understand if it wasn’t obvious, especially through the screen 💕☺️
It's lovely to see you having so much more fun applying the cool toned makeup colors. And it makes your skin come alive and look so much brighter. I hope you had a wonderful time at the festival.
Thank you so much! I never made it to the festival, I was too tired 😅
@@sarahryanthestylecoach So sorry you weren't able to make the festival, but you would have looked great. By the way, you definitely underrate your makeup skills!
I have been typed as a true autumn with sister palette winter . She said I’m warm and deep , and neutral . Have I understand you correctly when I should look at the deep colors from winter and not the clear ones?
I loved your comment "Once you see your best colors, you can't unsee them." So very true. As a makeup artist, I also understand the "shudder" you felt when applying colors that don't work with your cool undertoned skin--especially since I also have a cool undertone. It was so hard seeing the anguish you felt as you created this look and I bet it felt wonderful when you removed those colors! Choosing the right foundation, blush and lipstick color for our undertone really makes such a dramatic difference as well. It would be really interesting to see a summer makeup look on one side and a winter makeup look on the other side.
I so appreciate the wonderful information you're providing. I love purple, but the warmer purple shades and really deep shades are definitely not my best look!
I believe i will look more like this lady as i age. Im 54 now. Natural strawberry blonde, teal-colored eyes, warm pink/peachy skin... I was ananyzed online five years ago when i had my hair dyed very light blonde and i was wearing make up. She analyzed me as bright, cool and light. Now im letting my natural hair grow out and not wearing make up. Ive bought SO many clothes in five years. I get very frustrated trying to figure my season out. I KNOW for sure now that i am NOT any kind of winter. The colors are too bright. Spring is better. I think its due to the warmth in the colors. The warmth brings the glow out. Im going through summer colors currently. This is my second year doing this with my natural color hair, no make up. Mint green looks really good. Creamy looks good. Coral looks good. A lot of my medium blues are looking awful once again on me. Black and pure white are too harsh on me.... I have much to try on again. Most would look at me and say "Summer", but that cant be true... I have a couple totes of Autumn clothing. Im not dark, so i know im not DEEP autumn. Im looking at Soft Autumn or Warm Autumn, but i lean more toward Soft Autumn right now... Just not sure. The video was fun to watch. Great teamwork, ladies!!
Wow I'm surprised someone analysed you with makeup on. I only work with people without makeup, otherwise the results can be inaccurate. If you want to know for sure, you know where to come :) Thanks for watching!
Hideous you can’t be serious
I have tons of freckles in my face and arms. I was told winters can't have freckles, and that freckles mean you're soft. Turns out I'm a bright winter!
